Leaving a permanent (tyre) impression at the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring was one of the more difficult tasks - because all too quickly the rain washed away all traces. Leaving behind a sporting impression in the asphalt despite maximum temperatures of 15 degrees Celsius and heavy rain is testament to the impressive performance by Bohnenkamp AG and the Windpower brand at the weekend.
Henrik Schmudde, Marketing Director of Bohnenkamp AG summed up the Windpower truck tyre brand's showing saying "Despite the typical Eifel weather, we had three successful days". "Our attendance was very well received and we were able to introduce many active and new customers to the Windpower brand and our commitment to truck racing."
On the Windpower stand in the industrial warehouse, truckers and other interested parties could compete against each other in a "tyre race" over an obstacle course, and obviously learn about the latest Windpower brand products. In the meantime, the S.L. Truck Racing Team of "Ring King" Heinz-Werner Lenz and son Sascha took charge of Windpower's presence on the big sporting stage. Outstanding: The Lenz team landed on the podium a total of three times in the so-called "Go & Stop Race". While Heinz-Werner and Sascha placed second and third in the driver rating, nephew Stephan managed to take victory with his series Actros running on Windpower tyres: First place in the road vehicles race!
"Exciting competitions in this unique Truck Grand Prix atmosphere is something our guests and customers have never experienced this intensively. It was a very successful weekend that makes even the infamous Eifel rain seem a few degrees warmer" jokes marketing man Schmudde while summing up Windpower's involvement at the Ring as a success.
